Academic Fellows

Academic Fellows are those who make or have made sustained and significant contributions to the mission of the Centre. Their scholarship reflects several theoretical perspectives and qualitative methodologies. Please click on individuals' names for a short bio and publication list.

CQ Fellows find value in their affiliation with CQ for a number of reasons. They appreciate being situated in a network of strong critical qualitative health researchers across various disciplines, and the opportunities afforded for expanding their engagement in scholarly discussion and research collaboration networks. CQ also legitimizes and advances qualitative research in the health field. Many CQ fellows have submitted grant applications with each other. Fellows also mentioned their appreciation of CQ’s support (financial or otherwise) for new initiatives that advance critical qualitative health research. CQ also supports Fellows’ teaching by providing a network and set of resources, and by bringing exposure to their QR courses. Finally, Fellows are also appreciative of the resources provided by CQ to the qualitative research community at large. Some comments from CQ fellows follow:

Fellows are appointed by the director in consultation with existing members of the Academic Fellows group. Read more about the role and responsibilities of Academic Fellows as well as the application process here.
